Berchtesgaden Scenic Tour

Following the German Alpine Road you will have a splendid view of the Bavarian Alps. Although the view is beautiful at Eagle’s Nest, it is one of the darkest places on earth. This seemingly innocent tearoom was one of the world’s most evil tyrant’s personal tearoom.

As you enjoy the spectacular views, you may want to take a few moments to remember the millions who were massacred in the Nazi Holocaust of the early 40s in Germany and other European countries.

There is no hotel pick-up for this tour. Your tour starts at the front of the “Karstadt” department store, across the main railway station (Hauptbahnhof, Bahnhofplatz). Board an air-conditioned coach and set out for a  Berchtesgaden Scenic Tour. You will be accompanied by a bilingual (English and German speaking) guide.

Enjoy a lovely drive through the city of Berchtesgaden. Nearby Berchtesgaden is Berchtesgaden National Park, an amazing sanctuary protected by the Bavarian Alps.

Feast your eyes on the superb mountain scenery all around. The vehicle will stop in front of the Documentation centre.

You’ll be given time to take lunch in Berchtesgaden at a restaurant where you can enjoy the delicious Bavarian fare.

In the afternoon there is an optional ride in a special bus to Eagle’s Nest (payable direct, approximately €14), Nazi dictator Hitler’s personal tearoom.

Please take the time to remember the millions who were massacred during the Nazi regime. In case of snow and ice, the world famous Salt Mines will be visited as an alternative to Eagle’s Nest.

Just remember to dress warmly and to wear comfortable shoes.
