Booming city of Plauen is the biggest city of the vogtland in the free state of Saxony. FroPlauenm the early 20th century, it is famous for its lace industry. Plauen is located near the edge of Bavaria and the Czech Republic, this city established by Sorbs, and during the Napoleonic Wars, it became part of Saxony in 1806. Because of its closeness to the inner German boundary during the war, it was a base to Russian military. The first manifestation against divided Germany started here. Plauen connected with Chwnitz, Hof, Nuremberg, Zwickau and others. Today this city is home to about 66,000 inhabitants.

This city has diverse old and eye-catching places, for tourists and locals both. The main landmarks of the city are old town hall with clock and the St, Johannes Kirche. Alte Rathaus is the old city hall and a fine-looking building in the core of the city. There is also the doorway to the Spttzenmuseum.
Although Theater Plauen Zwickau is an amazing theater in the city, and for history lovers, Vogtland Museum is the biggest museum in Plauen. Johanneskirche is a beautiful church with nice twin towers, and Malzhaus is a gorgeous old building with galleries, music and a small cinema.

Some bridges are the most important tourist destination in the city. Alte Elsterbrucke is the oldest bridge in Saxony. Friedensbrucke is the largest stone arch bridge in the world. However, Elstertalbrucke is the second largest brick bridge in the world, but a bit outside the city center.

In Plauen, a large number of restaurants placed, from which Manana, Altes Handelshaus, Tennera, Heinrichs, and Haus Vogtland Syrau are most eminent for tourists. Haus Vogtland Syrau is one of the best restaurants, with such a big menu, that takes half an hour to read through.

The biggest festival held here in June with three stages of different music. The name of the festival is Spitzenfest. If someone wants to buy “Plauener Spitze”, there is a factory outlet for lace. A typical shopping mall is located in the center of the city, having a large number of shops.

It is difficult to reach in this city by plane, if some arrive here from outside the Europe, and then some difficulties may occur to him. However, this city served tourists by many local trains. Plauen can reach by car easily, by the rest of Germany, because the city well connected with the German Highway.
