Erholungspark Marzahn – Enjoy Germany tourism At Its Best!

The Erholungspark Marzahn in the capital city of Germany, Berlin is an absolute must see for tourists visiting the country. It is one of the most beautiful man made gardens in not just Europe, but the world. The garden was an effort on the part of German authorities to provide Berlin with a world class garden. The garden is like a breath of fresh air in the bustling city of jungle. Though within the perimeters of Germany, the tranquility of the garden makes one feel like he or she is far away from the city. It is these unique qualities of the garden that make it a must see attraction for Germany tourism. Entrance to the garden requires a fee of three Euros for adults and concessions are available.

The Erholungspark Marzahn park was opened to the public in the year 1987 and has welcomed many people who wanted a piece of peace in the bustling city. The park is quite big measuring more than a hundred hectares in area. In 1987, the park was known as Berliner Gartenschau but in 1991 the name of the park was changed to Erholungspark Marzahn. The park has undergone many changes besides its name since inception.

In the year 2000, the new millennium saw the beginning of the Gardens of the World section. It began with the opening of the Chinese styled garden in October, 2000 followed by gardens following styles of other countries. In April 2003, spread over 2500 meter square Erholungspark Marzahn saw the opening of the Japanese garden. In December 2003, the Balinese garden spread over five hundred meter square was the Balinese garden. July, 2005 saw the opening of the Oriental garden spread over 6000 meter square; it is the largest among all gardens, in the gardens of the world section. In March 2006, the Korean Garden was opened to the public and in May, 2008, the Italian garden opened its door to tourists.

The gardens of the world representing different countries are designed keeping the traditions of the countries in mind therefore they are quite authentic and unique. The Asian gardens in the gardens of the world are truly stunning; the Chinese garden for instance has a tea house where one can take part in a typical tea ceremony traditional to China or simply enjoy some green tea. However, one needs to make reservations for the tea ceremony. The Japanese garden is a Zen garden balancing different elements of nature like plants, rocks and water. The Oriental garden is for the romantic with fountains feeding pools surrounded by oleander, roses, jasmine and orange trees. These gardens are a result of collaboration between German authorities and native artisans.
