Known as the capital city of Germany and included in one of the sixteen states of Germany is Berlin. As to date, Berlin is known to be the largest city in the country of Germany as well. History

In the 13th century 1701-1918, Berlin was known to be the capital of the Kingdom of Prussia, in 1871-1918 the German empire, 1919-1933 the Weimar Republic and in 1933-1945 the Third Reich. After the 2nd World War the city was then divided into the East Berlin which was the capital of East Germany while the West Berlin in effect became West German territory. In 1990, the following the German reunification the city got back its status as the capital of all Germany.

Berlin has been known to be the most metropolitan of the states it is the home for renowned universities, sporting and cultural events, the arts, personalities and even research institutes that has made great involvement for the whole world.
