Enjoy a hands-on experience at one of Europe’s most interactive museums. The DDR Museum shows you what life in the socialist part of Germany was like
and in a very fun and delightful way it shows you a fascinating insight into Berlin’s history.
You will be able to experience history in a vivid, interactive and playful way and enjoy a hands-on experience of the everyday life of a socialist state long gone.
Exhibits are there to be handled and only a few are kept in glass cabinets. Everything waits to be touched and experienced: open the drawers and closets, rummage through them and discover!
You have two options for your visit to the DDR Museum: you may explore on your own or pre-book a one hour private guided tour, plus the option of an English-speaking guide (if chosen).
Experience one of Europe’s most interactive exhibitions: Descend into a world of concrete-slab buildings, take a look behind cupboards and dampers, into drawers.
The smell of the Trabi is still originally GDR-like (German Democratic Republic – former East Germany): take a seat, turn the ignition key, eyes front, foot on the gas pedal and set off. Typical engine noises of the Trabi and a simulated ride through the concrete-slab housing estate give an impression of what it was like to go for a ride in such an original.
There is much more to discover in the DDR Museum: watch TV in the authentic GDR living room, rummage through the drawers of the Karat wall unit. The spice rack in the kitchen still smells of back then and the pressure cooker can be seen still standing on the stove.
Hailed as one of the most interactive museums in Europe, the DDR Museum offers you the opportunity to experience the GDR everyday life yourself.
The price is unbelievable as well: from £4.66 per person. So hop on this fun to do and interacting activity. And don’t forget to bring your camera! Other than allowing you to interact with practically all its exhibits, the GDR Museum also allows you to register all the fun!
