Ulm- The Best Attraction of Bravaria

Ulmis famous for being the birthplace of Germany’s brightest mind, Albert Einstein. Besides being the birthplace of Albert Einstein, the Bavarian city of Ulm situated on the banks of the River Danube is a very lively city with lots of sights worth seeing as well as plenty of activities. Its many attractions have made the city very popular in term of Germany Tourism. Ulm is roughly an hour ride away in a train from Stuttgart and it takes an hour and half to get to Ulm from Munich via train. The town itself is fairly small, so if the weather is fine just walk to discover the city. There are plenty of buses and one can even take a boat ride on the river Danubeand go sightseeing.

Besides being the birthplace of Albert Einstein, it’s another major attraction is its church – Ulmer Munster with its steeple which is considered the tallest in the world. The Church with its steeple is the dominant architectural feature of the city; one can access the top of the steeple for a fee and get a fabulous view of the city below. The Construction of the Cathedral began in the fourteenth century and it continued to be built till the late nineteenth century to take its present form. It is said that on a clear day one can even see the Alps from the top of the Steeple. However, very few people are lucky to see it as the region is often very foggy.

While in Ulm, one must take a walk alongside the River Danube as well as the city wall. While walking the aforementioned route, one will discover many art galleries and they are definitely worth peeking at. One can also enjoy the sight of small houses and little streets as well as the crooked house during the walk. Albert Einstein’s house will also fall on the route which is currently marked by a memorial.

The tourist office can be very helpful for those looking for accommodation as they can direct tourists towards pensions located in the old town. The owners of the house are not well versed in English and therefore prefer the office to handle their business. One can find hotels in Ulm as well but one must be prepared to shell out quite a bit for it as well, accommodation in the Old town is a cheaper option. One can get decent German food and beer in Ulm. Those interested in visiting the many museums of Ulm can purchase a Museum Pass from the Tourist Information office which provides access to multiple Museums. The pass is valid for a fairly long time so one can discover the place and the museums at his own pace.
